With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I know many of you are a bit sad thinking you won’t be getting a Valentine this year, but fear not. You already have the greatest love story around!
As lonely as you may feel scrolling through your Instagram feed seeing all the couples out on dates “so in love,” let me remind you of something. You are not alone and you are not unloved.
You see, regardless of your relationship status this Valentine’s Day, you are so so loved. Not only by the Creator of the Universe but by your family, your friends, your pets, and maybe even a secret admirer. When you see things from this perspective, you have sooo many Valentines!
I know it can be hard to enjoy Valentine’s Day single when this world makes it out to seem like it’s only for couples, but it’s not. Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, and you have so many people around you that love and care about you just like you love and care for them. You don’t need a significant other in order to take part in Valentine’s Day because the day is not restricted to just that. This Valentine’s Day enjoy your singleness and remember that God already sent His one and only son to die for you, and if that isn’t the greatest gift of love known to mankind than I don’t know what is.
So if you are feeling a bit lonely this Valentine’s Day, remember you are loved regardless of your relationship status. Remember all the awesome people you get to enjoy each and every day with. And most importantly of all, remember your Father who already wrote you the greatest Valentine of all time. Your Father’s love letter (as shortened) reads:
“I chose you when I planned creation (Ephesians 1:11-12). You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book (Psalm 139:15-16). You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). It is my desire to lavish my love on you (1 John 3:1) simply because you are my child and I am your Father (1 John 3:1). My plan for your future has always been filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11) because I love you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). My thoughts toward you are as countless as the sand on the seashore (Psalm 139:17-18). I will never stop doing good to you (Jeremiah 32:40) for you are my treasured possession (Exodus 19:5). When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you (Psalm 34:18). One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes and I’ll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth (Revelation 21:3-4).
I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus (John 17:23). I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love (Romans 8:31-32) and nothing will ever separate you from my love again (Romans 8:38-39).
-Your Heavenly Father”
Regardless of your relationship status this Valentine’s Day, you could never be more loved.
